Bio

Michael Durrer was born 1979 in Berne, Switzerland. After school, he was trained and employed for several years in a international trusting company as accountant and audit-assistant.

From 2000 - 2006, he toured with the Swiss circus company Monti, which is internationally known for it’s contemporary circus productions, and he became the head of the tour- and box office.

In summer 2006 he has been working as the production manager of "PuuPääT", an acrobatic dance theatre project in the forest. This Finnish-Swiss co-production was successfully performed in Wohlen, Switzerland.

As front of house manager he worked in 2007 at the “Berner Tanztage”, one of the most important contemporary dance festivals in Switzerland.

In July 2009, Michael graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Sir Paul McCartney's fame university in the United Kingdom, where he studied Stage- and Production Management. During his education, he has also been working as a member of the stage management team in the German production of "We Will Rock You" in Cologne and for many theatre productions in Liverpool and Switzerland.

After graduation Michael first went on a tour with the Swiss-French dance company Loutop. Then he worked in the stage management team of the Palladium Theater in Stuttgart (Stage Entertainment GmbH) for the two german musical productions "Wicked" and Roman Pollanskis "Dance of the Vampires".

Since autumn 2010 Michael is working as deputy stage manager in the Schauspielhaus Zurich.

Michael is very passionate about the modern circus, contemporary dance and the musical theatre. Or the mix of all these elements.
